The Heat Rises as Joe Rada Wins The 2009 CasaBlanca Amateur

The temperature was rising and the golf was smoking hot as the Net Division of the SNGA took on the CasaBlanca Golf Club on June 27th and 28th. There were six competitors in red numbers for the tournament topped off by a steller two day total of 138 (-6) posted by this year's winner, Joe Rada. Joe played consistent the entire weekend and included an eagle on the par 4 17th by working a 5 iron around a grove of trees and into the hole for the shot of the tournament. Joe managed to hold off a charging George Yocum who shot a final round Net 67 to move into sole possession of second at 141 (-3). This put Yocum one shot ahead of Scott Walker, Michael Goffinet, and Eric Conway who each shot a respectable 142 (-2) to finish tied for 3rd.
Overall the event was a success and the course was setup nicely for the competition. The SNGA would like to thank the volunteers, staff, CasaBlanca Golf Club, and all the competitors for making this event possible.
