The SNGA is a not-for-profit organization founded to represent, promote and serve the best interests of golf in the state of Nevada.
The organization is the official representative of the United States Golf Association in Southern Nevada.  The SNGA is made up of over 11,000 members who have established a Handicap through one of the SNGA's member clubs. The SNGA administers and performs the duties of the following:

SNGA Handicaps:

The SNGA administers the USGA handicap system throughout Southern Nevada assuring compliance with all USGA requirements.

Course Rating/Measuring:

The SNGA provides course rating and measuring services to its member clubs to insure all handicaps are fairly administered.

Tournament Schedule:

Arranges and compiles a yearly tournament schedule open to SNGA members. Conducts SNGA designated point events to determine amateur of the year. Conducts USGA qualifying events.

Player Tournament Binder:

Publishes an electronic handbook containing information about SNGA events, and other important tournament information.   The SNGA website also provides interactive tournament schedules and player information.  A physical handbook is no longer provided.  Everything can be accessed at www.snga.org.

Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame:

The Southern Nevada Golf Association works with the Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame, who administers the nomination and balloting procedure that recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the game of golf in Nevada. The Southern Nevada Golf Association works with local golf courses to help increase participation in association events and to promote golf in general in Southern Nevada. Financial Aid:

When possible, the Southern Nevada Golf Association renders financial assistance to deserving juniors, Public Links qualifiers, and other deserving players who are competing on a national level in major amateur events.

Media:

Provides results of tournaments to area newspapers and magazines that are of interest to Southern Nevada Golfers. Featured in the Las Vegas Review Journal Sports section the first Monday of every month. Feature will include stories and information about the SNGA.

The Southern Nevada Golf Association's services are for all golfers in the SNGA area of responsibility, regardless of age or ability. Members are eligible to participate in SNGA sponsored tournaments and the Nevada State Amateur, and establish a SNGA handicap that is recognized in every state and many countries outside the United States. Every golfer should join the SNGA through their local golf club to insure the maintenance of an impartial, non-commercial governing body for amateur golf in Southern Nevada.
